Here lies the bios of all the bookworms that contribute to the blog.
First up, yours truly.
Current location: rural Japan
Background: Born in China, partially raised there then got uprooted and replanted in Canada, this Chinese-Canadian girl has since been in love with globe-trotting and cultural-immersion. Having studied in France for a year, I am now settled in for another year in one of the most rural places in Japan, 5 minutes from the coast that stretches out into the endless Japanese Pacific. Hunan, China will always be my home, and so will Vancouver, Canada. But I am a world-citizen.
Hobbies: Reading (duh!), swimming, singing, silly dancing, listening to music, talking, blogging, and plotting mischief.
Favourite Genres: dystopian fiction, historical and political non-fiction, biographies, young adult (YA), travel memoirs and political sci-fi
Favourite Author(s): George Orwell, Kurt Vonnegut, Dan Brown
All-time Favourite Books: 1984 by George Orwell, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Housseini, The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde.
Current Life Mantra: “Who you will be one year from now is most greatly influenced by the books you read and the people with whom you spend time.”
